We have been very busy since UK Exports Minister Mike Freer attended the opening of our expanded factory in February and we are certainly glad of the extra production capacity as the orders keep coming in! We are also currently expanding our warehousing capabilities in Thetford which will mean more available stock at our fingertips and quicker delivery times.
This week one of our more compact vaccine refrigerators, the VC50SDD, is heading to Ukraine responding to the current humanitarian crisis. The order was prepared in record time for an international NGO who needed the refrigerator urgently. Well done to our Logistics Manager Bobbie for pulling out all the stops to get this refrigerator shipped as quickly as possible.
We are currently working hard on a number of orders, one of which is heading to Mozambique this month. The country was hit by a tropical cyclone in April and relief work continues. Our WHO-accredited solar direct drive vaccine refrigerators were purchased for a UN project via the UN Web Buy Plus portal which is primarily used for projects related to United Nations programme activities and are consistent with UN goals and objectives for assistance in developing countries. We are proud to be an approved supplier to this portal and our inclusion is a mark of quality assurance and the way we do business.
We are also preparing an order for Trinidad – the first batch of our new generation refrigerators with integrated Beyond remote temperature monitoring is being dispatched there and we are working with our in-country partners to install the units at designated health facilities.
We have shipped our off-grid medical refrigerators all over the world, supporting recovery efforts through many global disasters, including the 2011 Philippines typhoon, the devastating 2016 Ebola outbreak in West Africa and more recently, the Covid pandemic.
Once our life-saving equipment is in place it not only addresses the immediate need but also provides a long term solution for developing countries that require a secure cold chain in order to deliver vital immunisation programmes well in to the future.
