How we do it
Our modern and flexible manufacturing and design process enables us to develop products from initial concept, right through to production-ready prototype.
1. Concept
After the initial enquiry stage, we book in a consultation meeting, where we take time to understand the customer’s requirements and pressure points. This will include target price, feasibility, conceptual drawings, basic sizes, any additional costs required for specialist tooling or processes.
2. Design
We then produce technical drawings (CAD) and move to prototype build stage, incorporating any additional components the customer would like to use

3. Prototyping
Once we have a prototype that meets the initial requirements, we work closely with the customer to refine the product to create the optimum solution for their needs.
4. Product testing
The product undergoes robust in-house testing using our in-house climate chamber with temperatures ranging from -10 +80ºC. Used to simulate products in various environments, the 100 test points give multiple readings at once and the full test data is shared with the customer.

5. Revised design
We build a pre-production prototype to ensure that the design and operation meet or exceed the initial requirements. We can then arrange for the customer to either have it shipped or come in and have a look in person.
6. Manufacturing
Following prototype refinement and final approval, many customers choose to proceed to full production here at Polestar, with the entire build and test process being overseen by the same people that designed the product.
